Interactive Floor Games & Intentional Space Design
It started with a self-expression need, white paint and an unrealistic plan…

and evolved into a global invitation
to play.
Transforming Spaces Through Experiential Game Design
After years of designing corporate spaces and learning centers, trying to quantify what makes environments truly inspiring, I found myself stuck in my own space—buying, purging, rearranging, and rearranging again, searching for that elusive feeling of home.
My intention was simple: I needed change and a creative outlet. My unrealistic plan? Throw white paint on my floor and somehow create a secret garden door with beautiful flowers—despite not knowing how to paint or draw. What started as desperation for clarity and self-expression became something extraordinary and unexpected.
From Floor Experiment to Global Game — Creating Interactive Floor Games That Build Connection & Community
For three weeks, I lived with painters tape, waiting for stain to dry, dreaming of painting beautiful flowers where I’d marked “tape stars” on the floor. My neighbor Alex became my patience guru, constantly reminding me to “relax” and “be patient” when I’d ask if the tape was ready to remove.
I taped, stained, and dreamed of what my floor mural would become — on repeat, of what felt like forever. When the final piece of tape came off, I turned it into a ball, tossed it up in celebration, and when it landed—Tapeball was born.
What started as a personal experiment in one Toronto loft has become an invitation for people everywhere to discover what happens when we bring intentional play into our spaces and fearlessly express ourselves.
What Is Tapeball?
First and foremost, as you may have noticed, Tapeball comes in all types of forms and every game is as unique as the “Tapeballers” that play them.
Tapeball - The Game:
Main Goal: Shoot for (and land on) Tape Stars
Land perfectly on a Tape Star without touching the background = Automatic win and your initials are forever written in the stars!
What started as a simple game with four makeshift tape ball game pieces (some wrapped in foil) became something magical. It brought life, love, and creativity into my space in ways I never imagined. Neighbors I’d barely spoken to in five years started coming over. My space felt alive. Those “flowers” I’d dreamed of painting? They bloomed in the most unexpected way—through the names written on the stars by people who brought joy, connection, and life into my home.
That’s when I realized: this wasn’t just about my space anymore. This was about expressing myself and encouraging others to do the same BECAUSE IT FEELS SO GOOD! Tapeball is sending a global invitation to play, to connect, and to bring life into spaces everywhere.
Tapeball - The Philosophy:
This experience revealed something profound and answered a question I had been asking for years.
The something profound = the pure joy and unbreakable confidence that comes with letting yourself flow with the creative process (and in life). This game is a reminder to myself (and hopefully others) of the beauty we’re all able to create in our day-to-day just by showing up to play.
The question I had been asking for years = “What is the shortest path to a feel-good space?”
My conclusion: Bring Life/Love Into Spaces. That’s what we need to feel good, to feel at peace, to feel at home. Life = Love. Love = Life.
Tapeball represents more than a game—it’s one way to BLLIS (Bring Life/Love Into Spaces). It’s about creating environments that don’t just look good, but inspire connection, creativity, and joy in ways well beyond our imaginations… we just need to show up and keep reminding ourselves that Life’s More Fun When You Shoot For the Stars.
The Global Invitation to Play
In a world of stress and overwhelm, we believe our spaces can provide more than just shelter—they can rejuvenate us, reconnect us with ourselves and each other, and spark unexpected joy through intentional play.
What started with white paint on one floor has become a global invitation: Will you accept the challenge to play?
Tape Stars = Goals/Intentions
Just as my original tape stars were meant to mark where beautiful flowers would bloom, every game of Tapeball is an opportunity to set intentions, connect with others, and discover the magic that happens when we bring life/love into our spaces—together.
Ready to bring life/love into your space? Let’s play.
